    i would appreciate your advice on my travels this summer. in mid-july i’ll ride the trans-siberian train east-west, then through the baltic states by bus to poland, typically only 1-2 days at each stop. i’m undecided on the onward route perhaps sunday aug2 from vilnius:
    1. vilnius-kaliningrad by train, one day curonian spit where there is a bird santuary(?), then onto malbork by train.
    2. vilnius-suwalki by bus then onward by train to bialystok and warsaw.
    your expertise will help me in route #1 to decide whether i should take it. i’m 62-yr-old woman traveling alone, usually staying in a hostel. is this easy for route #1 above? may i leave it free or do i need to prebook tickets/stays? if yes how to prebook? i will have a visa for russia mainland, do i need more hotel authorization from kaliningrad? what would you consider ‘must see’ in this area?
    also i’m interested in your replies to the other questions already posted, where would i go to read them?
